Target Marketing Group Ltd
Target is an award-winning agency that helps clients to achieve their goals through purposeful communications.
Our 10-strong team helps clients to articulate their purpose, building powerful communication programmes that engage stakeholders in pursuit of a clear vision. Through the communications strategies we devise and deliver, clients inspire loyalty, motivate action, make a positive social impact and, by doing so, achieve success.
For almost 45 years, we have been combining strategic advice with creative hands-on help enabling businesses, charities, local authorities and non-profits to be understood, distinctive and chosen by the people that matter to them.
We believe that business can be a force for good. While we have always supported charities, our perspective on what it means to be a responsible business is deepening to include our contribution to our own people, networks, local and global communities. It’s a work in progress and we are learning from others, including CCP.
“Target feels a great sense of belonging within the Cheltenham community, having been part of the town for almost 45 years.
Learning about CCP’s vital grassroots work and mission to transform the lives of children, young people, families and vulnerable adults – not just here in our home county of Gloucestershire, but across the wider region – simply underlines the importance of collaborating across public, private and voluntary sectors if our communities are to flourish.
The simple act of choosing and giving a Christmas present for an individual child (who has given hints of their hopes from ‘Santa’) may seem like a drop in the ocean of need, but it feels like a very ‘human’ way to connect. We commend CCP on this and all their work to support our communities.”
How did you come across CCP?
We have supported CCP’s Christmas ‘Hamper Scamper’ appeals for the past few years, but first became aware of the charity much earlier, through the Cheltenham Circular Challenge.
In recent years the CCP team, and Cordell Ray in particular, have been very actively involved in business networking events, including as members of Circle2Success. This has presented several opportunities to hear from them about the great work that they do in our local community.
Describe how you have supported CCP in 2020-21
We were really keen to support CCP’s Christmas appeal again in 2020. While the logistics were a little more complex due to colleagues working from home, we knew that the families supported by CCP would have been facing even greater challenges.
Co-ordinated by Beverley, our office manager, the Target team and several neighbouring businesses in our building donated 23 children’s Christmas presents for the CCP Hamper Scamper Appeal.
In many cases, this involved donors arranging for their gifts (ordered online) to be sent to Beverley’s home where she wrapped and tagged them. Others made use of the wonderful initiative by BoxTree to despatch their gifts directly to CCP, while some dropped off their contributions to our office, ready for collection.
We also coordinated a food hamper donation point in our building for those who were able to come into the office, resulting in several bags and boxes of groceries and festive treats.
